What Did We Do All Summer?

As summer draws to an end, we can’t help thinking of all the fun and exciting adventures we had during summer camp. Hudson Montessori School was buzzing with campers’ ages 2yrs – 11yr when camp began in June. Close to 125 children from our school and neighboring schools  in Jersey City joined us for the summer.Group Picture

The Bridge and Toddler Camp – (Ages 2)

Our youngest campers’ ages 2- 2.5 years enjoyed their own camp. For many of our young ones this was their first formal introduction to a classroom setting away from mom and dad. They were introduced to various Montessori materials in the classroom along with art, craft and music they explored themes such as Under the Sea , Zoom-Zoom, Away We Go! and My Amazing Body.Toddler Bridge Summer Camp

Primary Summer Maker’s Camp – “Build It, Catch It, Show It! (Ages 3-4)

During the first session campers built buildings, bridges and tunnels using unconventional building materials (a favorite being marshmallows and toothpicks). In the second session, “Catch It!”  campers learned about animals, great and small, and their prey.

In the final session they designed puppets and were treated to a special puppet show by ventriloquist, Kenny Warren form NYC, and also an in-house puppet show put up by our Elementary Campers. Our camper were delighted when Royal Gymnastics dropped by and transformed our multipurpose room into a gymnastic arena.Gymnastics Summer Camp
