Hudson Montessori's theme-based learning approach extends to summer camp by engaging children in a range of weekly themes, from ocean discovery to the earth's elements for younger children and a STEAM Maker Camp for elementary students. Our teachers round out our camp with swimming (elementary) and water play (toddlers and primary), music, art, and movement for all levels while older students are also coding, playing chess, and immersing in higher-level science projects.
Toddlers spend the week discovering life in the ocean's depths. Teachers introduce the basics of geography as students learn that three-fourths of the world is made up of water! These lessons will come to life as they splish-splash in the outdoor waterplay area and spend the day playing in their classroom beach.
Primary campers explore the many wonders found in the garden! Through the book "Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt," students learn about what’s in a garden, from bugs, vegetables, flowers, seasonal changes to gardening wisdom that they will use for hands-on projects throughout the session.
At the Elementary level, campers are learning all about code! Understanding how programmers write code, 3D printing, detecting artificial intelligence, and beyond, campers learn about the exciting world of technology and innovation through this immersive session.
