Middle School Students Deliver Canned Goods and Holiday Cheer to Local Food Pantry

Our school community is committed to community outreach year-round. The holiday season reminds us to unite and support our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. The HMS community banded together this Thanksgiving and kindly donated desperately needed food items to St. Matthew's food pantry.

The Middle School students collected, sorted, and transported the canned, bagged, and boxed non-perishable donations. Pastor Menzi Nkambule welcomed our students and faculty to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church this week as they delivered canned goods and other non-perishable items to the food pantry. The St. Matthews pantry feeds over 500 families each week.

The students were inspired by their recent visit to the Canstructure exhibit at Brookfield Place. Our students used their engineering skills to create structures out of donated items before bringing them for donation.

Thank you to all the students, families, and staff who donated food and their time to make this year's Thanksgiving canned drive successful. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
