It's A Wrap: Summer Camp 2024

Thank you to our staff, families, and campers for making the 2024 summer camp a success! Together, we explored three fun-filled themes for each age group, visited many exciting locations for field trips, and spent time with our friends in the sun every day! We’re ready to welcome all our children back to school on Tuesday!

Toddler-Bridge Primary Camp

Our Toddler & Bridge camp (age 2 and young 3s) spent the summer learning about three unique topics: Under the Sea, my Amazing Body, and Zoom, Zoom, Away We Go! Each unique camp showed the children how essential parts of our world work. Campers left with a better understanding of the ocean, transportation, and how their bodies work to propel us through the world.

Our teachers captivated the children's minds daily with hands-on activities that refined their math, language, sensory, and practical life skills. Toddlers spend time outside daily playing games, learning sports activities, gardening, enjoying water sprinkler time, and much more!

Primary Camp

Primary campers (age 3 to rising kindergarteners) explored the world of fantastic creatures this summer, focusing on animal groups. The first session focused on dinosaurs and their habitats. Sharks took over the second session. The last camp took the children on a journey exploring the world of birds.

Through science, art, sensory play, stories, and movement, campers unearthed an understanding of animal life cycles, habitats, and the unique characteristics of each animal group. Each session included themed crafts and games, walking trips to Van Vorst Playground, and water sprinkler fun.

Elementary Camp

The Elementary Maker's camp (rising 1st through 5th graders) campers studied the intersection of physics and Olympic athletes.

  • The first session explored forces and motion. Students researched why soccer players need cleats, why basketballs bounce, and more.

  • The second session explained matter, light, and sound, such as how the light from the Olympic torch travels and how sound travels through a stadium.

  • The last session showed students the importance of energy, from how athletes train and learn to conserve energy to how we can create an Olympic stadium using clean energy. Campers learned how energy powers every facet of our world.

Our elementary campers spent almost every morning in the pool, worked on exciting projects, collaborated in group lessons, and took field trips to places like the Liberty Science Center, the Newark Museum, Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, and more.
