Hundreds of children and parents joined us on Saturday, January 25, for an unforgettable Three-in-One Event complete with child makers, pancakes, and children becoming teachers for their parents.
Toddler, Bridge Primary, and Primary students welcomed their families into their classrooms for Bring Your Parent to School Day. This unique opportunity allowed parents to join their children (ages 2 through 6) for a 45-minute teaching session in their classrooms, with young students as their parents’ teachers. Each student taught their parents the concepts they have been learning this year by following a specially prepared work plan and guiding the parents through the class. This event is a family favorite every year and offers our parents a hands-on look into their child's current learning journey while creating lasting memories with their children.
Our parent volunteer group, the HMV, coordinated this year's annual pancake breakfast fundraiser in the morning. Students of all ages and families enjoyed fresh-flipped blueberry, chocolate chip, and rainbow pancakes from our parent-volunteer chefs. Between Bring Your Parent to School Day and Maker Faire, families mingled, chatted, and enjoyed breakfast throughout the day. All proceeds from the fundraiser support the school's enrichment programs.
Our Kindergarten through 8th-grade students presented dazzling projects at our School Maker Faire, from artworks and coding projects to robotics and engineering feats. The hands-on, interactive exhibition offered our students valuable presentation experience by opening their horizons to making and sharing their work. Meanwhile, attendees got to play and tinker. Families joined us and explored immersive experiential rooms, each dedicated to different projects.
