People Who Changed the World 2013-2014

Year End Celebration 2014

On Saturday, June 14, 2014 the Annual Year End Celebration started with performances by our school children and was followed by dinner, auction and raffle. The theme of this year’s Celebration was “People Who Changed the World.”  Each classroom paid tribute, through song and dance, to a different hero who made significant contributions in shaping our world:

Sunny Yellow – Nelson Mandela
Ocean Blue – Thomas Edison
Peaceful Green – Mulan
Serene Indigo – Mahatma Gandhi
Harmonious Orange – Pele
Celestial Blue – William Shakespeare
Orange Blossom – Frida Kahlo

Our children had great fun preparing for this celebration and our parents were dazzled by their performance on the big stage! We thank you all for attending and making it a memorable event.

Social Studies Fair 2014

Hudson Montessori’s 5th Annual Social Studies Fair was held on Saturday, May 3, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The theme for this year’s event was “People Who Have Changed the World.” The Fair encapsulated a year-long study of a varied cast of world leaders and thinkers, such as Galileo, Charles Darwin, Martin Luther King, Amelia Earhart and Mozart – people who dreamed big and changed the world we live in by their thoughts, discoveries and contributions in their chosen fields. The exhibits and activities showcased what the children learned about these world heroes, whose life stories and influences were integrated into many aspects of the school’s curriculum, including Math, Language, Practical Life and Sensorial. The exhibits on display at the Fair were created by Hudson Montessori children, both in the classroom and at home.

The four main themes of the Exhibition Rooms were: Aviation, highlighting the Wright Brothers and Amelia Earhart; Space, highlighting Galileo and Neil Armstrong; Biomes, reflecting the work of Jacques Cousteau, Jane Goodall and Charles Darwin; and Music & Art, displaying work inspired by various artists and musicians. The Carnival section of the Fair had activity booths, bounce houses and science experiments performed by our very own First Graders.

The Fair was an amazing success and we are very proud of the accomplishments of our young students!
