Spring Happenings

Bergen PAC – The Three Little Pigs

Despite the downpour and regional flash floods earlier this spring, our young primary students braved the weather and enjoyed a performance at the Bergen Performing Arts Center! It was a wonderful experience for our young ones to watch “The Three Little Pigs” as they prepared themselves for their Year End Celebration Performance (YEC) on June 2, 2018. Thank you to all the parents that helped chaperone!

Meeting the I-Team of Jersey City

Our Upper Elementary students took a brisk morning stroll to our local City Hall to meet Brian Platt, a team member of the Jersey City Innovate Team, also know as the “I-Team.” Jersey City is one of the 12 cities selected nationwide to participate in Bloomberg Philanthropies Innovation Team Program. Mr. Platt showed our students the grounds of City Hall, highlighting several projects the I-Team is hoping to implement citywide. Our students witnessed a demonstration of the “Porous Pavements” meant to help mitigate localized flooding and discussed with Mr. Platt problems and possible solutions to help reduced untreated water to flow into their Hudson River homes. Our students will use this research to formulate solutions and design their own version of a sustainable city, one of the exhibits that will be featured in Hudson Montessori School’s Social Studies Fair. We thank the Innovate team for inspiring our youth to be better citizens of our world.

Chinese New Year Celebrations

Hudson Montessori students celebrated Chinese New Year! Our Elementary students enjoyed watching Nai Nai Chen at the NJ Performing Arts Centers as they welcome the Year of the Dog!

Some of Primary students paraded down Regent Street, tooting their horns and banging their drums, complete with their own class made dragon!

Lower Elementary students performed a short play about Chinese New Year and the Race for the Zodiac for primary and elementary students.
