STEAM
Hudson Montessori School is proud to be New Jersey’s first—and only—STEM-accredited elementary school, recognized by the National Institute for STEM Education since 2019.
Unlike traditional school models that prioritize math and reading at the expense of other subjects, our approach integrates science, technology, engineering, and the arts throughout the curriculum. Core academic skills are strengthened through a STEAM lens, bringing depth, creativity, and real-world relevance to learning. Through hands-on, project-based experiences, our students are inspired to think critically, solve problems collaboratively, and explore their world with curiosity and confidence.
Our Specials Program
Our Specials Program enriches our core curriculum by offering a dynamic range of classes that nurture the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Starting at the earliest age, our students engage in creative and hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and encourage self-expression. Whether learning a new language or learning to perform on stage, these opportunities help students build confidence and discover passions. These classes complement their academic learning through joyful exploration:

-
STEAM & Fine Art
-
Spanish
-
Physical Education
-

-
Elementary Chorus & Jazz Band (Third Grade+)
-
Library, Literacy Enrichment & Public Speaking

After School Enrichment Programs
Hudson Montessori’s After School Enrichment Program offers a vibrant selection of extracurricular classes designed to spark new interests, build skills, and extend the joy of learning beyond the school day. Beginning at age 3, students can explore activities like ballet and Spanish. For older children, we offer classes like coding, chess, and engineering in a relaxed environment that engages their natural curiosity. These programs also provide families with convenient options for continued care and enrichment in the afternoons, while giving children the chance to discover passions, build friendships, and grow in confidence after dismissal time.
Summer Camp
Summer camp at Hudson Montessori School is all about making fun memories while keeping children active, enriching and engaging curious minds, and ensuring children have certified teachers and instructors who offer a safe and nurturing environment.
Hudson Montessori School offers three summer camps explicitly geared for different age levels: Toddler (age 2 up to 3), Primary (age 3 up to rising Kindergarteners), and Elementary (rising First Graders to Fifth Graders).

Field Trips
Field trips are an exciting extension of classroom learning, giving preschoolers to middle schoolers opportunities to make meaningful connections between what they are learning and the real world. Whether our youngest students are visiting Foster Field Farm to explore animals up close, or older students are conducting scientific observations during A Day in the Life of the Hudson River, each outing deepens their understanding and connection to the curriculum. From cultural events like performances at NJPAC and the Nimbus’ Nutcracker, to leadership-building experiences at Camp Mason and through the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN), these trips enrich a child’s academic and personal growth.

Competitions
Hudson Montessori School understands that competition is a part of life, especially in the STEM field. With the support of the historically non-competitive Montessori background, our school encourages our students to try everything, including competition and collaboration with other students and schools in our community. Our young scholars have excelled at competitions, clinching prizes in contests around our region and beyond.
